Save The Mother Earth

When it comes to the planet on which we are living, known as Earth and often regarded as a mother that protects all the living being residing on it, it seems that we are doing very little to protect this mother of ours. Earth is suffering at the hands of pollution, ozone layer depletion, excessive use of its minerals and what not. All the products that earth provides to us are taken for granted and many a times, people are actually ignorant about the fact that the Earth needs some care as well.

There are many people who are aware of the consequences of their actions and choices on the earth and tend to show that they care but their actions don’t. These are known as pseudo environmentalist. And that is not something one should aim to be.

Earth requires love and care. If you wish to provide it, let your actions speak louder than words. But that is not the only problem. There are people who are unaware of the consequences of their actions. And that is a major concern as well. The fact is that many people do not know the negative effect of some of their actions and do not see it as wrong.

  • 90,381 species have gone extinct in this year alone thanks to factors like global warming, climate change and human activities like poaching.
  • In this year alone, over 6 hundred thousand people have died due to air pollution
  • In order to fulfill our needs, in terms of resources and waste material disposal, we need another earth.

In order to truly tackle this situation of despair, it is important to make people aware of the consequences of their daily choices. Educating people on what to use and what not to use can have a major impact on the environment. However, telling them what not to use and what to use is not sufficient. The commodities that should be used can be distributed among the people. This will encourage them to use it in the future.
The most basic thing that we do is tell people about the 3 R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. This helps in making progress.

For example, we give people the alternative of using bags made of clothes to carry their vegetables, rather than using plastic bags that are non-biodegradable (do not decompose with time) and hence are bad for the environment. This is a classic example of reduce.

As for reuse, one needs to go no further than clothing. Once, you are done wearing certain items in your wardrobe you can donate them to the needy. This results in an article being used for a longer period of time.

Paper is something that can be recycled. In India, people actually go door to door in order to gather waste paper in exchange for money and sell it for profit in factories that produce paper. These companies recycle old paper to make new paper.

Global warming is resulting in climatic changes that cause extinction of animals and air pollution. To get rid of this, one needs to use eco-friendly vehicles, apply filters to the chimneys and reduce the overall output of smoke in the house.

Methods to save the flora and fauna include being conscious of the fact that plants and animals are living, breathing beings and need to be cared for.

We work on this by creating awareness among the people and giving them the things they require in order to make adequate changes.

Also, we are working on drafting some policies that can help in improving the conditions.

You can also contribute to the Mother Earth and give it the protection it needs by taking the appropriate measures and donating to this cause.
